In the first part of the article about the rules and strategy of blackjack we presented the chart and discussed the so-called basic strategy. We also pointed out some of the main benefits of betting with blockchain tech – anonymity and better jackpots. In the next part, we will discuss other benefits of blockchain tech and the counting of cards in blackjack, which is shrouded in legends. It turns out that although even movies (such as the famous “21”) or scientific papers were made on this subject, it is not as difficult to learn as it seems at first glance. You only need to do very simple subtracting, adding and dividing in your head. Ready to learn about the blockchain tech and card counting strategy? Let’s go!
Counting cards in blackjack
When more cards than the low ones remain to be dealt, the mathematical advantage in the game is temporarily on the player’s side, not the casino. Of course, the mathematics of the game is the same in traditional and crypto casinos. However, we encourage you to try the latter because as we mentioned earlier, casinos based on the blockchain tech usually offer way attractive jackpots. When the player has the advantage he should, of course, maximize his bets, and in the opposite situation – minimize. Card counters use basic strategy, often with small changes depending on the change in the so-called true count (see below).
The most popular counting cards’ system is the Hi-Lo method. In this strategy, a player acquires an additional value to the cards.
Cards 2-6: have a +1 value
Cards 7-9: 0
10-A: -1 value
You should do simple operations in the head when the card appears. Although it sounds simple, try it first in play money games based on blockchain tech to get used to it. When making basic operations, you get the count number but what you really need is the so-called true count. To get it, you have to divide count number by the amount of remaining decks. For example, if the count number is equal to 8, and there are 4 decks remaining, the true count is equal to 2.

- The player has 8, the dealer has 4, (+5) the player should take the card, except when the true count is +5 or more – then the player doubles the stake.
In this strategy, insure a stake only if the true count is equal to 3 or more.
Betting on the example of games based on the blockchain tech
Counting cards in blackjack will tell you how to bet at any moment. You start with a medium size bet. Let’s suppose that you play in a game based on the blockchain tech and your average bet is 1 bitcoin. Of course, we do not recommend playing at such huge stakes but let’s make this assumption to make things easier. When the count number is close to 0, you place an average bet. If the number is high, +4 or higher, you will change the bet to a high one, doubling up to 2 bitcoins. If the number is low, -4 or higher, you will reduce the rate to half, 0.5 bitcoin.
The thing is, when the number is high, there are more tens, face cards and aces in the deck. This increases your chance of hitting Blackjack, which is why it guarantees a double-size bet. A low score means there are more low cards in the deck from 2 to 6, which gives the dealer more benefits. We’re lowering the stake to half to minimize potential losses.
Budget on the example of games based on the blockchain tech
One of the most popular budget managing systems in blackjack is Kelly Criterion. To simplify, in this strategy, you place bets that are equal to your advantage over the opponent. For example, if you play in a based on the blockchain tech game and your budget is equal to 1 bitcoin with 1% advantage, you place a bet equal to 1%, so 0.01 bitcoin.
Why is it worth to try games based on blockchain tech?
Because of the blockchain tech, one of the main benefits of crypto casinos is that you can be sure about their fairness. Players can see the code of each game, and easily verify whether the casino is trustworthy. Thanks to the blockchain tech, programs are immutable, and even organizers of the game cannot interfere with it. What’s more, most crypto casinos use provably fair algorithms, which can be verified for fairness on the side of the organizers.
Although the strategy of playing blackjack is easy to understand after a short time, it does not mean that you will learn it quickly. Do not be discouraged that in the beginning you will count something wrong or misread the table. Give yourself a chance in play money games based on the blockchain tech first. The skill will come with time. Good luck!
