As always, Premier League is full of excitements, both at the top and the bottom of the table. Crystal Palace are struggling to get away from the bottom, while their next opponent, Tottenham are still very much in the title race. If you would like to bet on their clash on Saturday evening, make sure to read this Crystal Palace vs Tottenham prediction first!
This is the team that put an end to Arsenal’s winning streak of 11 wins in a row. The game these two played two weeks ago ended in a draw. That match showed that Crystal Palace can play well against even some really tough teams, especially when the games are played at their turf, the Selhurst Park in London.
Unfortunately, the draw with Arsenal didn’t mark the beginning of a successful run for them. They lost to Middleborough in League Cup and to Chelsea in the Premier League. The worst thing is that their tough schedule does not end with the match against Tottenham. In two weeks, they play against the Red Devils in Manchester. Of course, that won’t discourage them to try and win at least a point in Saturday’s game.
What gives them hope ahead of the Tottenham game is that most of their key men are 100% fit and ready for the clash, including their best player and currently their top scorer, Wilfred Zaha. Unfortunately for them, the forward is without a single goal to his name since September. And he’s just one of many players that haven’t been playing too well this season. In fact, it seems that the only reason why they aren’t hammered to the bottom of the table is that some other Premier League teams have been playing even worse.
The Spurs are currently on the 4th place on the table, with only 5 points less than the table leaders Manchester City. This means that the title race is still pretty much open. But, the competition for the top place is huge and in order to stay in the race for the trophy, they will need to keep on playing well.
Although Tottenham are in a decent form at the moment, the fitness of their players might become an issue real soon. The reason is that this team is competing not only in the Premier League, but in the Champions League as well.
And knowing that Tottenham didn’t bring in anyone during the summer transfer window, they can get into serious problems if some of their key men get injured. Actually, a few of their crucial players are already struggling with injuries, meaning that those who are injury-free have to play more. And you can’t expect top-level performances from tired players.
Crystal Palace absentees:
- Christian Benteke (injury)
- Joel Ward (injury)
- Connor Wickham (injury)
- Scott Dann (doubtful)
- Jan Vertonghen (injury)
- Mousa Dembele (injury)
- Eric Dier (injury)
- Danny Rose (injury)
- Vincent Janssen (injury)
- Victor Wanyama (doubtful)
Hennessey – Sakho, Tomkins, Wan-Bissaka, Van Aanholt – Kouyate, McArthur, Milivojevic, Townsend, Zaha – Ayew
Lloris – Alderweireld, Sanchez, Trippier, Davies – Winks, Eriksen, Alli – Moura, Son, Kane
Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Prediction
Comparing the manpower, Tottenham clearly have advantage. The problem is that the Spurs played one game mid-week in the Champions League and considering that many of their players are struggling with injuries, they might not feel very up for the game. And Crystal Palace can take advantage of that and grab themselves a point.
