In the 4th round in Group C of UEFA Champions League, Zenit host Bayer Leverkusen in St. Petersburg.
These two teams met two weeks ago and Bayer Leverkusen was better side and won 2-0.
After that match Zenit played two matches in Russian Premier League and have managed to win two times and on both matches they didn’t conceded a goal. Three days ago they have managed to beat CSKA Moscow 0-1 in the big Russian derby.
Zenit is the best team in their league and they are the only team without defeat (10-2-0).
Defender Garay (11/0 d) have some problems with an injury, but he will probably be in the first eleven. Smolnikov (9/2 d) and Fayzulin (10/0 m) are both out for this match.
Bayer Leverkusen is playing very solid this season. They are standing at the 5th position in Bundesliga, while in the Champions League they are at the top of the table and if they manage to take win the match against Zenit they will be one step close to qualify in the next stage.
After the first match against Zenit, they have managed to beat Schalke at home 1-0, but in the last match in Bundesliga they lost against Hamburger 1-0. Btw, Hamburger have the worst attack in Bundesliga (score only 4 goals).
Left back Wendell (6/0 d) is out due to suspension after he got the red card in the last match, while Kyriakos Papadopoulos (4/0 d) is injured. Out are also Castro (4/0 m), Reinartz (9/0 m) and Rolfes (2/0 m).
It will be very hard for Leverkusen to beat Zenit again in the short period. In my opinion, Zenit could make a good result at home and took all three points.
