UEFA Champions League: Sporting vs Schalke Betting Tips and Predictions

In the 4th round, Group G in UEFA Champions League, Sporting take on Schalke.

These two teams met two weeks ago in Gelsenkirchen and Schalke beat Sporting 4-3 after controversial penalty in injury time. Sporting played about 60 minutes with 10 players, after Maurício was sent-off, but despite that, team from Lisbon managed to get back from 3-1 to 3-3, but Russian referee Sergei Karasev awarded penalty and Schalke won. The visitors demand rematch with Schalke, but UEFA ignored them.

Sporting Lisbon is standing at the bottom of the table and they need three points in this match in order to keep their chances to qualify in the next stage of Champions League.

Defender Maurício (8/0 d) is out due to suspension after he was sent-off two weeks ago.

Schalke 04 is not at the high level this season and after 10 rounds in Bundesliga they are standing at the middle of the table. Schalke play very solid at home, but their away performance is far from good. In their last 8 away matches they lost 6 times and managed to win only once (1-1-6).

The visitors have many problems with injuries from the beginning of the season.

For this match they will be without Draxler (8/2 m), Kolašinac (1/0 d), Farfán (0/0 m), Giefer (0/0 gk), Matip (5/1 d), Goretzka (0/0 m) and Santana (1/0 d), while Sam (6/0 m), Boateng (5/0 m) and Höwedes (6/1 d) are all doubtful.

Sporting is fully motivated to win this match after bad referee decision in the first match and they want to take all three points in order to get back in a race to go through.
