Tottenham

Even though they’ve been without a few of their key men in the last couple of weeks, e.g. Harry Kane and Dele Alli, the Spurs still managed to do very well. They won 3 out of 4 Premier League matches they played in January while losing only one. And the one they lost was against raging Solskjaer’s Man United.

The problem is that without their best scorer Kane, the Spurs don’t seem too lethal and that can be a problem against defensive-minded teams like Leicester. For example, in the previous round of the Premier League, they played against Newcastle, who are famous for being very organized at the back. And even though the Spurs did win, the final score was only 1:0.

Obviously, there’s a worry among their fans that they’re going to struggle to find the back of the net against Leicester, but what gives them confidence is that they have a pretty impressive record against the Foxes. Spurs won 3 out of 4 previous meetings between the two, scoring a total of 14 goals along the way. Unfortunately for Spurs, 8 of those 14 were scored by Kane and Alli, who will miss this match.

Leicester

The Foxes have been in a pretty poor form lately, losing 4 out of 5 previous matches, counting all competitions. They lost some matches that they really should’ve won, or at least play a draw. But, it seems that they’re just not good when it comes to playing against the teams from the bottom half. They’ve lost to Cardiff, Southampton, and so on.

However, the former Premier League champions are great when playing against the teams from near the top of the table. They beat Chelsea, Man City, and played 1:1 with Liverpool. This adds to the theory that the Spurs are going to have a tough time trying to score on Sunday.

Leicester are actually the team with the least number of goals allowed aside from the top 4 teams. Right now, they have a total of 31 goals conceded and that number was impressively smaller before 2019 started. In 4 league games in January, they allowed 7 goals. Obviously, the entire team is eager not to let such poor defensive form happen again.

The question is can the Foxes get all the spoils? Can they beat Tottenham at Wembley? Well, they beat them only once when Spurs were the hosts. It was in January 2016 when Tottenham still played at White Hart Lane. And that was the time when Leicester had players like Mahrez and Kante in the team. And of course, their manager at the time was Claudio Ranieri.

Tottenham vs Leicester Prediction

This is going to be a very tough game for Spurs, not just because Leicester are great at defending but also because Tottenham players need to be careful not to get too tired or get injured. Why? Because in three days’ time, they play against Dortmund in the Champions League.
