But, that defeat happened in England; this Wednesday they play at home, at the Parc des Princes. And the things aren’t looking bright for their opponents Napoli. PSG
Twenty-three is the number of goals PSG scored in the previous five matches. And their achievement is even more impressive knowing that they played some really reputable opponents along the way. For example, they thrashed Lyon 5:0, the team that’s on the 3rd place in the French Ligue 1 at the moment. They also did well in the Champions League, hammering Red Star 6:1.
You might be wondering what’s the key to their success, have they got a new Messi in the team perhaps? Well, they actually have several such players. Neymar, who’s considered the world’s most expensive player, is definitely one of them. This guy has scored eight goals in Ligue 1 and three in the Champions League.
And you would think that this makes him PSG’s top scorer. But, Mbappe is the guy who’s currently their most fruitful scorer in Ligue 1 with nine goals after only six matches played. On top of that, he’s scored twice in the Champions League. And then there’s also Cavani who’s scored five in the league and one in the Champions League.
With such powerful attack, PSG seem capable of breaking literally any defense on the planet. Keeping a clean sheet seems like a mission impossible for Napoli, especially because the match is played at the Parc des Princes, where PSG have won every single match this season.
Napoli
Napoli have been in a pretty decent form lately, but will it matter against such heavyweight side as PSG? I think it won’t, unless Carlo Ancelotti comes up with a tactic that’s gonna somehow stop raging PSG attackers. It’s highly unlikely, but Napoli might try to outscore them. Liverpool managed to do it, so why wouldn’t Napoli follow their example.
Actually, it seem that the only way to beat PSG is to attack them. Defending is pointless as they’re gonna eventually find their space. They are not used to defending, so if you attack them, they could get stunned. And this even worked for Red Star, who, despite losing heavily, managed to put one in.
Knowing how good Napoli are in the final third, they could definitely score more than Red Star. The question is will it be sufficient to take home at least one point.
