Probably the most interesting duel this Tuesday in the Champions League is the one taking place at the Old Trafford, where Manchester United will take on Juventus. It’s basically a battle for the top spot in the group. If Juve win it, they’ll probably remain on the top, no matter what. But, the Red Devils are looking to make the things more interesting and hopefully get themselves in a winning form. So, what to expect from this game? Read this Manchester United vs Juventus match preview to find out!
Manchester United
Everyone probably already knows that things aren’t going very well at the Old Trafford. Manchester United are in poor form, particularly in the Premier League, where they’re far away from the top. Their chances for winning the trophy are almost nonexistent.
Sure, the competition in the Premier League is fierce, but they haven’t been impressive elsewhere as well. They have four points after two rounds in the Champions League, having won against Young Boys and playing draw with Valencia at their own turf.
The main reason why they’re struggling is that the players don’t seem to have a good time under the current coach, Jose Mourinho. Paul Pogba is the loudest in his criticism against Mourinho and the Frenchman is getting more and more support with each new failure of the Red Devils.
And the latest one happened this weekend. Of course, calling a draw with Chelsea a failure would sound crazy, but Manchester United had a lead until 6 minutes into the stoppage time. So, yeah, not being able to keep their cool until the final whistle is definitely a failure. And such a disappointment can have a big impact on their confidence in the game against Juventus.
Juventus
Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the Manchester to play against the club that propelled him to the stardom more than a decade ago. Actually, 15 years have passed when he made his debut in Man United. He’s 33 now, but has no plans to retire. In fact, despite a kind of slow start at Juve, Cristiano seems to be back on the right track.
He’s currently Juventus’ top scorer with 5 goals to his name so far. But, none of those goals were scored in the Champions League. The reason is that he got sent off after less than half hour since the start of the game with Valencia in the first round. After sitting out his ban, CR7 is back and ready to remind the Old Trafford of his talent.
Of course, Juventus are not just about Ronaldo. This is the team that played in two out of four previous Champions League finals, when Ronaldo was still a Los Blanco. And the same players who featured in those finals are more or less in the team.

Manchester United vs Juventus Match Prediction
In my opinion, Juventus are the better team, but everyone’s extra-motivated when playing big Champions League matches. This is why I expect the Red Devils to give their very utmost in this duel, something which can only bring lots of excitement to the viewers. And by excitement, I mean goals. We should see them on both ends.
