In the 1/8 finals od Coppa Italia, Roma will host Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma’s undefeated streak was ended four days ago when they have suffered the first defeat this season in Serie A against Juventus (3-0). On that match, De Rossi, Castan and Ljajic all got cards, so they will be out for the next match in Serie A against Genoa. It means all those players will be available for today’s match, but Balzaretti, Pjanić and Borriello will be out.
On the other side, Sampdoria lost the first time against Napoli (2-0) since Sinisa Mihajlovic replaced Delio Rossi. They are standing on the 14th position with only four points more than the first team in relegation zone. The main goal for the team from Genoa this season is to avoid relegation, so Cup is not too much important for them. It doesn’t mean that they will surender in this match.
Sampdoria’s players know that Roma is a favorite in this match, so I believe they will play relaxing, try to score and maybe make a positive result. Sampdoria have scored at least one goal in 8 of their last 9 matches.
After loss against Juve, Roma have to go for a win in this match. They are favorite in this match and they have all that they need to win, but the first betting option for me are goals.
