Arsenal vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting Tips

This Saturday, a London Derby is on the program; Arsenal are welcoming Chelsea at the Emirates. Both teams are in the top 5 of the Premier League and they want to stay there or, if possible, go even higher on the table. This is why you can be sure both teams are going to give their utmost in this match. The big question is who’s gonna be the happier side after the 90 minutes. The answer might lie in our Arsenal vs Chelsea prediction & betting tips!

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal

Arsenal

Arsenal are currently at the 5th place on the table, which is great considering how tough a competition the Premier League has become. Still, their form in the first part of the season was so impressive that the Gunners probably think they belong even higher. From late April to mid-December Arsenal were in an unbeatable streak, with 14 Premier League games without a defeat.

But, those days seem like they were a long time ago. Currently, Arsenal can’t be too proud of their form. It all started with a defeat to Southampton, after which this team lost to Tottenham, Liverpool, and West Ham, while also playing draw with Brighton. All of that happened in just a bit over one month period.

And the main reason why Arsenal went from such a great form to losing important matches is that they had some serious problems with injuries, particularly at the back. The good news is that those worries seem to be over now. Most of their key defenders are back from injuries and are ready to face Chelsea.

Chelsea

The Blues are hoping to finish the season near the top. They’re currently on the 3rd place, with only a single point fewer than the Spurs, meaning that if the things go their way, they could overtake that position this weekend.

But, to do that, they need to beat Arsenal. And that won’t be easy if Arsenal defenders do a good job. The thing is that Chelsea haven’t been that great in the final third this season. With 40 goals scored, they’re the worst team of the top 6 teams on the table.

Ten of those 40 goals were scored by Chelsea’s best player Eden Hazard. However, he’s going through a bit of a goal drought right now, having not scored in his last 5 matches. On the other hand, he’s been great in terms of goals-assists.

The problem is that some of Hazard’s teammates in the attack are having problems with fitness. Morata, Giroud, and even Willian had some slight problems with injuries at the beginning of the month, so their fitness might not be perfect.

Possible Lineups

Chelsea

Kepa – Rudiger, Luiz, Azpilicueta, Alonso – Jorginho, Kante, Barkley – Hazard, Pedro, Morata

Arsenal vs Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea are the better of the two, but you never know what can happen in a London Derby, especially when it’s played at Arsenal’s turf. Furthermore, Chelsea haven’t been that great in the attack this season, which Arsenal will try to take advantage of. On the other hand, Arsenal have been dreadful at the back, so they might not be able to make their plans come alive. All this makes me think we’re going to see a draw here.
