World Cup 2014: Germany vs Argentina Betting Preview

In the final of World Cup 2014 in Brazil on Estadio do Maracana in Rio De Janeiro will meet Germany and Argentina.

Both national teams are without defeat on this tournament and they both deserve to fight for this trophy.

After Germany smashed and humiliated Brazil 1-7 many people expect that German side will lift the trophy. I wrote some my thoughts and betting tips for World Cup before it started and predict that Germany will win it and I still think they can do that.

Many German players are playing together for years and they know each other very well. Take a look at their squad on the previous World Cup in South Africa four years ago. The main players are still in the squad, with more experience and knowledge. And that’s their advantage!

Germany will have full squad available for the final game. Mats Hummels had some problems with injury in the semi-finals but he will probably be in the starting eleven.

Possible Lineups:

Argentina: Romero; Zabaleta, Demichelis, Garay, Rojo; Biglia, Mascherano; Pérez, Messi, Di María; Higuaín

Germany: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Hummels, Höwedes; Schweinsteiger; Khedira, Kroos; Müller, Klose, Özil

Argentina didn’t impress on this World Cup, but they deserve to play the final. In a moment their performance on the whole tournament reminds me on the national team of Greece on the UEFA Euro 2004 when they became champions with many 1-0 wins. The similar moments we can see in Argentina’s performance.

Argentina have many problems in attack, despite the fact that they have many good options in attack such as Leo Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria… On the other side they have very good defence. In the last 3 matches they didn’t concede a single goal.

Sergio Aguero has fully recovered from an injury and could take place in squad, while defender Marcos Rojo had some problems with an injury, but he should start.

Germany is a favorite to win the World Cup but in the matches like these everything is possible.

I expect tough first 45 minutes and draw at the half-time.
