In the fight for the 1/4 final will meet Argentina and Switzerland.
Argentina finished the group phase on the 1st position very impressive, 3 matches – 3 wins. They didn’t show the best football, but they made one step forward and qualified in the last 16.
Now, they will have to play more serious in order to reach the 1/4 finals. Lionel Messi will be fully motivated to be more better and try to make something with national team.
Except Messi, other Argentina’s attackers didn’t show too much in the group phase matches. Sergio Aguero is out due to injured, so Lavezzi could get his chance in attack.
Despite the good attack in South American national team, IMO they have some problems in defence conceded 3 goals in 2 of 3 matches.
Switzerland have pretty decent squad. Xherdan Shaqiri, Bayern Munchen player, who scored the only hat-trick on this tournament will be the most dangerous for Argentina defenders. They have prety solid attack with 7 goals scored in the group phase, but they also have very shaky defence.
Without any doubt, Argentina is a favorite to go through, but it won’t be an easy match for them. Switzerland have very good squad and expect to score on this match.
