Watford are always a tough nut to crack, particularly when playing at Vicarage Road. But, this Tuesday, they’re facing the current Premier League title holder, Manchester City. And City need a win in order to stay at the top of the table. For this special we teamed up with FootballPredictions.com to get some extra inside information. Therefore, Watford are going to have a difficult time trying to win at least a point. Can they manage it somehow? Find it out in Watford vs Manchester City prediction & betting tips!
Right now, Watford are at the 10th place, but they were higher just a few weeks ago. They lost 3 out of 4 previous matches, so they’re now in the middle of the table. Bouncing back on the winning track will not be easy, at least not this week when they’re playing against the Premier League leaders.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that they won’t try and do their best in this game. They might not have as good players as Man City, but they play at home, where they’ve won 4 out of 7 matches this season. In fact, if only home matches were counted, Watford would be at the 6th place on the table.
What’s got to worry them is that they have a very bad record against Man City. They are without a single win against City in this century, losing each of their previous 8 matches. And the last 3 of those saw Watford losing heavily. In fact, the total goal difference in those 3 games was 14:1 in the favor of Manchester City.
On top of everything, Watford have a couple of problems with absentees as well. Etienne Capoue is out because of a red card from the previous round; Cleverley and Penaranda are absent due to injuries; while Janmaat does not yet seem 100% fit to play the entire game.
Similarly to Watford, Man City also have some problems with injuries. But, unlike Watford, this team has plenty of players ready to step in as substitutes. And unlike Watford, they seem to be doing very fine lately.
Man City are topping the Premier League table and have won every single league match out of their previous 6. Furthermore, they’re still without a defeat in domestic league, with 12 wins and 2 draws. What might worry them slightly is that those 2 draws happened on the road.
Still, Man City probably aren’t too much worried about that fact. What worries them more is that Liverpool are breathing by their necks with only 2 points fewer. This means that Man City mustn’t fail if they wish to stay at the top of the table. And considering that next weekend they play against Chelsea, beating Watford is a must!

Watford vs Manchester City Prediction
I have no doubt Manchester City will win this game. Unfortunately, bookies and most experts in premier league tips share my opinion. That is why the odds on an away win are only about 1.30. If that’s not good enough for you, maybe you ought to bet on a large number of goals. I think Man City are so much powerful in the attack that they’re gonna score at least 2-3 goals on Tuesday.
