Newcastle vs Wolves Prediction & Betting Tips

The only Premier League match this Sunday is the clash between Newcastle and Wolves. Both teams had a fairly successful week behind them, so both are very eager to get into this game and try to win as many points as possible. It’s needless to say that we should expect an exciting match at St. James Park. But, who’s gonna win it? Maybe you’ll find the answer in Newcastle vs Wolves prediction & betting tips!

Raul Jimenez of Wolverhampton Wanderers

Newcastle

They have only 13 points and the danger of getting into the relegation zone is still really big. But, they have some reasons to be happy. For example, their recent form has been pretty decent. In fact, they did really great in November, winning their only 3 games of the season.

And their good form has continued into December. They did lose to West Ham on the first day of the month, but last Wednesday, Newcastle managed to get a draw against Everton at the Goodison Park. The score was 1:1 in that game, in which Everton had the ball in their possession for most of the time. And even though the Toffees had 19 goal attempts (in comparison to only 8 goal attempts of Newcastle), the Magpies did manage to snatch a point.

And based on that performance, they’re very confident they can do something similar against Wolves. Plus, this time, they play on their own turf. The St. James Park is the place where they won 2 out of 3 wins this season.

Wolves

They came from the Championship last season, but they have no plans of going back there. And their performances this season really show that Wolves are a true Premier League team. The question is in which part of the table are they gonna finish the season. Right now, they’re at the 12th place with 19 goals, but they could easily go higher pretty soon.

For example, Everton, who are at the 6th place, have only 4 points more than Wolves ahead of the Round 16. Obviously, this fact alone gives them a lot of confidence to do well against Newcastle and possibly even bring all 3 points from their trip.

Another reason why Wolves are very eager to get into this game is that they achieved huge success earlier this week. What they did on Wednesday was beating Chelsea 2:1. This is a game in which they showed extraordinary class and winning it came at the right moment for Wolves. Before that, they lost 5 out of 6 previous game. Beating Chelsea has certainly given them a lot of morale boost for the rest of the season.

Newcastle vs Wolves Prediction

I think Wolves are the better of the two and even though the game is played at Newcastle’s stadium, I think the visitors are going to win it. And it’s not just the fact that the away team has better players; it’s also because Wolves are coming to the Saint James Park after achieving their biggest success in this century, beating the mighty Chelsea. Sure, Rafa Benitez’ team will defend with all they got, but I doubt they can resist Wolves’ attacks.
