Man United’s manager, Jose Mourinho, is currently walking on a shaky ground. After losing to Brighton last weekend, the Special One is the number one favorite to get sacked of all Premier League managers. To prevent such a scenario from happening, he will need his team to beat the Spurs on Monday evening at the Old Trafford. Read this Manchester United vs Tottenham match preview to find out is there any hope for Jose and his boys!
Manchester United
Reportedly, there are some huge problems in Manchester United locker-room. It seems that the players simply hate their manager. The leader of the rebels is Paul Pogba, who’s publicly expressed his dislike of Mourinho and his attitude toward players. On top of that, there’s also the issue with the club owners, the Glazer family. Apparently, they’re on Mourinho’s side, thinking that the players are the ones to blame.
Whatever the reason, but they were dreadful in the game against Brighton last Sunday, which they lost 3:2. Their defense was extremely poor in that match and Eric Bailly is personally responsible for at least one goal. He was by far the worst player on the pitch but this doesn’t mean his teammates were much better. It was painful to watch his center-back partner Victor Lindelof struggling with Brighton forwards.
But, all would be okay if the Red Devils were good in the attack. But, they were giving away possession and failed to create too many chances. In fact, Brighton’s well-organized defense managed to deal with them easily.
Paul Pogba, whose role is to be the playmaker, was far from impressive, but was still better than any other Man United player on the pitch. We saw Mata struggling, Martial playing like he was an amateur player, Fred making costly mistakes, and so on. If they’re planning to win points on Monday against Tottenham, all of the Manchester United players will have to do much, much better.
Tottenham
The Spurs have won both of their two games this season. And they’ve done it pretty comfortably despite having some serious issues with injuries. Almost third of their entire first team squad was having fitness concerns before the last weekend’s duel with Fulham, but Tottenham still managed to win that game easily.
It seems that Pochettino and Tottenham directors made the right choice not to sign anyone over the summer, as the team they have is definitely capable of finishing near the top. Their players know each other very well as they’ve been playing together for many years. These players have managed to beat the Red Devils many times in the past, although not too often when the games were played at the Old Trafford.
The Spurs play the best when at home and it’s been like that for years. Actually, in the 21st century, they managed to beat Manchester United on only two occasions at the Old Trafford. But those wins happened back in 2014 and 2012, when neither Mourinho nor Pochettino were managing their current clubs.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Match Prediction
For Man United, this is a must-win match, but winning all three points is not going to be easy for a simple fact – Tottenham are a really amazing team. That said, we’re probably going to see lots of goals in this game, probably on both ends.
