Manchester United vs Everton Match Preview & Betting Tips

Things aren’t going well for Manchester United, but there’s still plenty of time to turn everything around in their favor. In the 10th round of the Premier League, the Red Devils play Everton at the Old Trafford. There’s no doubt they’ll have support from the stands, but the Toffees are coming to Manchester very confident they can snatch at least a point here, thus prolonging their pretty good recent run.

Manchester United

This Tuesday, Man United lost to Juventus at home in the Champions League. The Italian team completely dominated the game, leaving the Red Devils almost no room to create chances. Of course, it’s not embarrassing to lose to one of the biggest favorites to win this competition, but Man Utd’s performance in that game is indicative of a poor run they’ve been going on for a while.

There’s an ongoing beef between some of the players and the manager, but they’re all professionals and need to leave it behind when they come onto the pitch. And they seem to do exactly that; the problem is that some of them are simply not good enough. I’m talking about Manchester United’s defenders, who have been dreadful this entire season.

Even though they have one of the world’s best goalkeepers between the posts, Man United have kept a clean sheet only in one Premier League match this season. The match in question was the one with Burnley, played in early September when Burnley were in a disastrous form.

Everton

The Toffees are aware that Manchester United are poor at the back, so they’ll surely try to take advantage of that. They had an entire week to get ready for this match, having played their previous game last Sunday. And that match was against Crystal Palace, which they won fairly comfortably 2:0, stretching their winning run to three wins in a row. The other two victories were against Leicester (away) and Fulham (home).

Another thing going in their favor is that they finally have no major injury worries. Unlike just a few weeks ago when they had almost 10 injured players, Everton now only have one first-team player who is definitely out of the squad. The man in question is James McCarthy with a broken leg.

What this means is that Marco Silva has plenty of options before him to choose the staring eleven. And even if some of those guys don’t do well in the game, he will be able to replace them with equally good players. This season, Everton seem to have at least one top-quality player in every position on the pitch.

The thing that worries them ahead of the Manchester United game is that they have a very poor score against this team. In fact, they won only once at the Old Trafford in the 21st century! But, things are a little bit different now. Everton haven’t been this strong in a while (if ever) and Manchester United haven’t been in such a disastrous form for ages.

Manchester United vs Everton Match Prediction

Considering how bad Manchester United have been defensively, I have no doubt Everton will score at least once. But, will it be enough to ensure a victory, I’m not completely sure.
