Leicester vs Tottenham Match Preview and Team News

Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur

Leicester

Leicester City ended a poor run of form with a 4-0 home win over Newcastle United on Sunday. The hosts finished the weekend eighth in the Premier League table and now host seventh-placed Tottenham. The Foxes are three points behind their opponents but have played two games more than them and had gone three without a win and won only two of the last nine before hammering Newcastle. The clean sheet that was kept was a welcome one for the Foxes. Leicester had gone 16 league and cup games without keeping one and 14 Premier League matches without avoiding conceding a goal. Home league form has been inconsistent, but the last two have been won with four goals scored in both of them. Tottenham will be tougher than Watford and Newcastle. Nampalys Mendy (Groin Injury), Wesley Fofana (Fibula Fracture), Ricardo Pereira (Hamstring Injury), and James Justin (Cruciate Ligament Injury) won’t be able to feature for Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers. Youri Tielemans plays well in the middle of the park, and he does not allow the opponent much action. Patson Daka enjoys the pitch, and when he receives the ball and goes towards the goal, the opponent has problems. He is strong, and it is challenging to keep this guy.

Tottenham

Tottenham is only three points behind fourth place after the weekend games and has a couple of matches in hand. It’s not the start that new boss Antonio Conte would have wanted. He’d made a good start in the Premier League with three wins in a row against Leeds United, Brentford, and Norwich City, all played at home. Work is needed on their away league form, though. Only one of the last five has been won, which was away at Newcastle United. Six of their last ten away Premier League fixtures have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has not got a full squad to pick from. Emerson Royal (Unknown Injury), Giovani Lo Celso (Knee Injury), and Cristian Romero (Hamstring Injury) will not be playing here. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg plays excellently and does not allow the opponent to play in the middle of the field. Lucas Moura is a guy who causes many problems to the opponent on the left side. He is fast and is unstoppable in a one-on-one game.
