Inter vs Milan Match Preview & Betting Tips

Derby della Madonnina a.k.a. the clash between Inter and Milan takes place on Sunday evening. Although both clubs use the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium as their home ground, Inter are the hosts this time. But, does it really matter who’s the host and who’s the visitor? Well, the last time the away team was the winner in the Milan Derby was back in 2010. If you would like to learn more facts like these, you gotta read this Inter vs Milan match preview, at the end of which you will find a couple of betting tips.

AC Milan vs Inter Milan

Inter

Inter have been in a terrific form since the mid-September, winning six matches in a row, counting all competition. And it’s not that they had an easy schedule; they faced some really tough teams, e.g. Tottenham in the Champions League, Fiorentina in Serie A, and so on. Unfortunately, their schedule is gonna get even tougher real soon. After the Milan Derby, they play a double-header with Barcelona in the Champions League and in between, they play Lazio and Genoa in Serie A.

However, Inter seem up to the challenge. They might not be as strong as Barcelona, but they can certainly give them a run for their money. And when it comes to Serie A, I think only Juve are better than them.

Inter have fantastic first XI, but what really gives them strength is that their bench is very long. This means that even if some of their key men get tired, almost equally good subs will replace them. And the man in charge of picking the team is Luciano Spalletti, one of the best managers alive.

Another advantage of Inter over their city-rivals is that they have almost no injury concerns. There are a few players struggling with fitness, but even if they aren’t ready for the Sunday’s duel, Inter should do fine.

Milan

Same as their arch-rivals, AC Milan have also been playing really well lately. They won their previous three games (two in Serie A, one in the Europa League) and are without a defeat since August. The good run has placed them in the middle of the Serie A table, but they could easily get much higher. The thing is that they’ve played one game fewer than the 18 other teams from the Italian top flight.

They have a pretty decent team, although not even their most passionate supporters think they’re good enough to compete for the title. In fact, the only player who seems to have the quality of a champion is Gonzalo Higuain. The striker has already scored 4 goals even though he played only 5 matches in Serie A this season. Apart from Higuain, Inter will have to watch out for Bonaventura who’s Milan’s second-best scorer.

And when it comes to defending, their teenage goalie, Donnarumma has been playing real well this season. Of course, he’s getting a lot of help from Milan’s back line, where the most important player has been Mateo Musacchio.

Inter vs Milan Match Prediction

Both teams have been playing very well lately and although I think Inter are the better side, their job is not going to be easy. They’ll probably win it, but I also think we will see goals on both ends.
