Bayern Munich vs Ajax Match Preview & Betting Tips

Champions League is back this Tuesday and there are plenty of matches that seem ideal for betting. One of those is the clash between German giants, Bayern Munich, and the best Dutch club, Ajax. The game takes place at Allianz Arena in Munich. What to bet on? This Bayern Munich vs Ajax match preview will help you choose your betting tips.

Arjen Robben, Bayern Munchen

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich has been the best German club for ages and is always one of the contenders for winning the Champions League. The last time they won it was in the season 2012/2013, but then Spanish clubs started dominating this competition. Barca won it once and Real Madrid won the title four times in the past five seasons.

Bayern do seem capable of challenging the title this season, or at least getting to the semis. Their participation in the knockout stage is almost 100% sure considering that the Group E is pretty easy. They play together with Benfica, a team that they beat two weeks ago by 2:0, and AEK Athens, a team that lost to Ajax in the first round.

Obviously, Bayern are big favorites against Ajax and the bookies know it, therefore, the odds on home win are very, very low. The big question is will Bayern be able to beat Ajax with a large goal difference. Judging by their home performances this season, they might.

Although Bayern dropped points last Tuesday when they played draw with Augsburg at home, they’re famously super-strong in Munich. For example, last season in Bundesliga, they won 14 out of 17 matches played at the Allianz Arena. And when it comes to their home performances in the Champions League, the only team that managed to beat them since 2013 was Real Madrid.

Ajax

I’m sure that Ajax fans know that Bayern is just too powerful for their players to get anything from this game. They’re going to lose it, but they hope the defeat won’t be humiliating. The bad news for Ajax is that they’ve always been better in the attacking department than in defense, so we can expect them to allow a lot of goals on Tuesday evening.

But, can they score against the mighty Bayern. I think they have the players capable of that. Klass-Jan Huntelaar has been in a fantastic form lately, scoring six goals in seven games this season. Dusan Tadic, their record transfer signing, has also been very impressive so far, scoring four and making two assists.

Ajax do have a pretty decent squad and look very capable of getting to the knockout stage. They thrashed AEK Athens 3:0 in the first match and it seems their rival for the second spot in the group will be Benfica.

Bayern Munich vs Ajax Match Prediction

After playing 1:1 with Augsburg at home and losing 2:0 to Hertha in Berlin, Bayern are looking to bounce back with a big win against Ajax. They definitely have the players to score a lot against Ajax, but the Dutch giant isn’t coming to Germany to surrender. The Dutch have invented Total Football and you can be sure they’ll strike Bayern back, which guarantees an entertaining show on Tuesday evening, probably with plenty of goals.
