The Netherlands – KNVB Beker: Ajax vs Feyenoord Betting Preview

In the 1/4 finals of Cup at the Amsterdam Arena, in a big derby, Ajax will host Feyenoord. Amsterdam vs Rotterdam!

Both teams were successful in their matches in Eredivisie 3 days ago and they are both full of confidence. Ajax was the better side in derby against PSV and won 1-0, while Feyenoord smashed Utrecht away 2-5.

Ajax’s captain Siem de Jong who picked up an injury before the match against PSV is still out. The first goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen (20/0) will be rested, so on goal will be Kenneth Vermeer (12/0). Ajax will play with the almost same team which beat PSV.

In Feyenoord squad, an important defender Stefan de Vrij (17/3) is out due to suspension and he will probably be replaced by 19 years old Sven van Beek (2/0), while midfielder Ruud Vormer (5/0) is still injured.

Ajax have the best defence in Eredivisie and it will be hard for the visitors to score in this match, despite the fact that they have a good attack.

In the last 5 matches in all competitions played in Amsterdam, Ajax conceded only one goal and it was in a match against Barcelona in Champions League.

Ajax will have a big advantage because Feyenoord will be without their fans on this match. In February 2009, the mayors of Amsterdam and Rotterdam made an agreement with the KNVB to ban visiting fans from the away games for the next five seasons in an effort to curb the violence.

Ajax traditionally play good against Feyenoord. In the last 10 matches between those two teams played in Amsterdam, Ajax have 9 wins (9-1-0).

In the matches like this everything is possible, but I believe Ajax could win this one and reach the 1/2 finals.
