Although their recent run isn’t too impressive, Liverpool are currently second on the Premier League table, just below their next opponent. Although both teams have exact same number of points, the Reds are below because their goal difference isn’t as good as what Man City have achieved.
Before they played draw with Chelsea in the previous round, Liverpool were the table leaders. That kind of success they achieved by winning six games in a row. Unlike the last season when their driving force was Mohamed Salah, it seems that there isn’t a single player that stands out this season.

Manchester City
The only time they failed to win this season in the Premier League was when Man City played Wolverhampton. Without trying to undermine their success, I need to point out that they didn’t play against too many tough sides this season. In fact, their biggest achievement in the Premier League is the win over Arsenal in the first round.
But, there’s no doubt that Manchester City have the quality to compete for another title. What may worry their fans a little bit is that they have a bad memory of duels with Liverpool. In fact, Liverpool have won every of their previous four meetings.
Things are even worse for Manchester City when the matches played at the Anfield are considered. The Citizens are without a single win over the Reds in Liverpool since 2003.
